In a decade and a half, Energoplan Group has developed in one of the most important and one of the fastest growing providers of comprehensive construction services in Slovenia. A small company has developed in international group which demands most modern approaches to management �" key elements were knowledge, devotion to work and ability to find new solutions. Each project was a new challenge, whether it was construction of modern residential settlements and huge shopping centres or reconstruction of buildings of historical value.
1990-1995
In the beginning of the nineties Slovenian economy was a subject to major changes in transition processes, while new social circumstances demanded new approaches to organization. Company Energoplan was established by the team of well-experienced people who under the changed market conditions wished to provide for high quality and price competitive construction services.
In the early years the company recognized advantages of comprehensive management of all phases of construction and investment process, therefore it has established associated companies to operate in individual phases of investment process. Company for investment, construction and trading activities Investplan was established in April 1993 as a response to the need for professional and independent companies, which would provide for preparation, management and coordination of investment projects. Most important orientation of the company was to provide for quality services to its customers within the agreed prices and deadlines. In ten-year period Investplan took part in several important projects, therefore gaining experience and reputation of reliable business partner.
In this period the company approved first grants and promoted employment of numerous young experts to complement the knowledge of older employees with new knowledge and fresh ideas, therefore contributing to a solid core of the company.
1995-2000
Successful projects, expansion of market and searching for new opportunities demanded thorough consolidation of ownership and finance. This period was very dynamic and active, both in internal processes as in business operations outwards, and it was marked with consolidation of ownership and planned objective to obtain new important businesses. Orientation on the Russian market was very difficult project which often demanded new adjustments and solutions due to specifics of this market. In 1996 we have established associated company Parkplan to complement construction and investment services with real estate management. Parkplan bought and now manages two car-park buildings on Kotnikova and Metelkova Streets in Ljubljana. Excellent execution of major projects (Medical School, Debeli rtič, Shopping centre Vič) helped Energoplan to become a part of the group of the best providers of building construction in 1997, while in 1998 it succeeded to construct and sell the first major construction project for the market. The company started building puppet theatre on Russian market in Yekaterinburg and during this project needed to adjust its activities to the then economy situation in the country. All this time Energoplan consistently followed the program of comprehensive quality control and received certificate of quality ISO 9001 in 1999. The volume of sale increased every year and in 1999 the company achieved more than EUR 415 thousand of revenue per employee. In 2000 Energoplan established a subsidiary in Russia.
2000 -
Energoplan Group began the new millennium with excellent results and exceeded expectations with more than EUR 28 million of revenue, thereof three quarters on domestic market. The company finalised reconstruction of Faculty of Law premises, reconstruction of The Slovenian Philharmonic building and finalised extension of passenger terminal on Aerodrome Ljubljana. Mercator shopping centres in Croatia, in Pula, Zagreb and Split were built. Expansion of business to Croatia resulted in establishment of a new company in 2001 �" Energoplan Zagreb. At the end of the same year Energoplan became a majority shareholder of the company ETP Kranj which was operating in the field of mechanical and electrical installations. Already in the next year Energoplan Group bought the company Slovenija projekt, project engineering office, specialized for architectural, construction and technical documentation. Since then it can provide for comprehensive planning services in cooperation with experienced experts. Due to demand on the market Energoplan focused on construction of residential and business facilities in Slovenia, while on Croatian market provides for works for Slovenian investors, which are expanding their business. A new car showroom was built in Zagreb �" Autocommerce. Subsidiary in Moscow doubled the volume of sales second year in a role.
To provide for efficient and comprehensive support of business, in 2002 Energoplan Group introduced new IT system Oppis. A year later started with gradual strategic transformation of the company. Basic orientation of Energoplan Group to provide for quality services is confirmed in the same year with ISO standard ISO 9001:2000.
In 2003, Energoplan Group achieved EUR 48 million of revenue on Slovenian, Croatian and Russian markets, thereof almost half on foreign markets. In Split a new Autocommerce showroom and Mercator shopping centre were built. In 2004 the company doubled its revenues in comparison to previous year and achieved more than EUR 90 million of revenue. Revenues increased on all markets �" mostly on Croatian and Russian.
In Slovenia we have built residential and business settlement Novi tabor, business facilities for Probanka in Maribor and final extension and adaptation of the new Grand Hotel Palace in Portorož. Construction for known investors represents majority of business of the Group. In this period we have built Dom sportova in Pula and several Mercator shopping centres. Energoplan finalized reconstruction of the Grand Hotel Adriatic in Opatija. In Russia we have built several establishments for the bank Sber, establishment for the bank Globex and printing house in the vicinity of Moscow.
Intensive expansion to new markets demanded new steps. In 2005 Energoplan Group established a company IP Obala with major activity in the field of construction for the market in the coastal area. To penetrate markets of South-Eastern Europe we have established a new company BG Plan in Belgrade and companies Energoplan in Podgorica and Sarajevo. In Croatia we have successfully finalized construction of dispatching centre Helios Chromos in Split.
Development of new markets in South-Eastern Europe therefore directly followed ambitious strategies of our investors, while development of new technologies enabled our competitiveness on these markets, since speed of construction goes hand in hand with the top quality. Today we are provider of comprehensive services, we are modern organization and, mostly, we are responsive company, prepared for the future.
